Three Students and Two Adults Injured in School Bus Crash on the Garden State Parkway
Three students, a school aide, and a driver were injured after a school bus overturned on the Garden State Parkway in Barnegat Township, New Jersey. According to the Ocean County’s Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred near mile marker 69.1 on Tuesday afternoon on the state’s major roadway.
Officials said the crash happened when a school bus and a Lexus passenger car collided in the parkway’s southbound lanes. Police reported that the Lexus ran off the highway and up an embankment while the school bus overturned in the left lane.
Five victims traveling on the school bus sustained minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. According to officials, no other injuries were reported, and the crash is still under investigation.
