On Wednesday, December 10, five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on White Horse Pike. According to the Berlin Police Department, the crash occurred along Route 30, between Franklin and Malan Avenues. All vehicles suffered heavy damage and blocked both sides of the highway.
Four of the five people sustained serious injuries, and all were transported to different hospitals, police said. The White Horse Pike was shut down in both directions for several hours for investigation and to clear the vehicles.
The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Crash Investigation Team, along with the Berlin Police Department, is investigating the incident.
Multi-vehicle crashes often result in serious injuries because the force of impact can multiply with each collision. When vehicles are struck from different directions or pushed into additional impacts, occupants face a higher risk of traumatic injuries, including head trauma, spinal damage, and internal injuries.
